Beginner Quilt Class - COLLINSVILLE
This is a 2 Saturdays class and teaches all the tricks of the trade! This class is for piecing a 3-yard Quilt Top.
Size: 44” x 62” (approximate)
you must have a working sewing machine or rent a machine from the store for $25.00 per day.
Class runs for two Saturdays and at the end of that time you should have a completed quilt top.
Quilting and binding will be discussed and you can finish these at home or send to your favorite Long Arm Quilter.
First Week:
Learn to follow 3-yard quilt patterns.
Learn how to cut fabric strips with a rotary cutter and acrylic ruler.
Learn how to put the blocks together and sew them.
Learn how to square up blocks and why it's important.
Start sewing blocks into strips.
Second Week:
Learn how to properly sew strips together.
We will add borders to complete your quilt top.

Supply List:
Book: Quick and Easy 3 yard book by Donna Robertson (these will be available the first day class)
Sewing Machine with foot pedal and electrical cord
Coordinating Thread and bobbins
Basic Sewing Supplies; pins or wonder clips, seam ripper, scissors, etc
Rotary Cutter with new blade
Ruler for Rotary Cutting: Strip 6 X 24" (approx. some rulers are narrower or wider but you need the 24" length)
Fabric Marking Pen, Chalk, or Pencil
Fabric Requirements:
3- 1 yard coordinating Fabrics (OSewpersonal has coordinated 3 yard bundles already cut for
purchase)
1/2 yard Binding Fabric (not needed for class)
