Quilted Jacket Class-O'FALLON

Learn how to make a quilted jacket with finished seams and bound edges. Knowledge of garment construction will be helpful, but not absolutely necessary. Pattern will be supplied.

Please read the supply list carefully!

Class supplies as listed MUST be prepared before class. Without them, you won't be able to make your jacket.

Fabric for jacket: get yardage based on your size jacket. PRE QUILT the lining batting and top together before class.


Jacket fabrics must be quilted together prior to class.
Fabric may be quilted in three 1 yard lengths for ease of handling. Quilted fabric may be washed and dried if desired.

You will need fabric that we will use as "binding" to cover the seams of the inside of your Jacket and use around the cuffs and neck of your jacket. This can be a solid or print fabric, but it needs to be cut on the bias to be slightly stretchy. There is a video below on how to cut and a list on how many inches to have for class.

Fabric for bias: (purchased bias tape is not suitable for this project)
-1 yard quilters cotton to create binding for outer edge (1)
-1 yard quilters cotton to create binding for inner seam allowance edges (2)

Bias must be cut prior to class (Here is a good video if you've never made bias binding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXvLAHWbyXo)
- Outer edge bias - cut 2 1/4" x 198"
- Inner edge bias - cut 1 1/4" x 306"
- Once piece - 1 3/4" x 72"

Additional supplies:
-fabric cutting scissors
-pins
-scotch tape
-thread to match outer fabric and full bobbin
-sewing machine
-walking foot if you have one (or 1/4" foot, foot #1 or similar)
-several machine sewing needles, 75/11 or 90/14
