Binding Class/MO

Course Objectives:
- Learn how to calculate how much binding needed for your quilt
- Differences of bias vs straight edge binding
- When to use bias vs straight edge binding
- How to rotary cut straight edge binding
- How to attach strips using a 45 degree seam
- How to machine sew binding to quilt
- How to miter corners of binding when attaching to quilt
- How to finish ends of binding when attaching to quilt project
- How to hand sew binding to back of quilt
- How to machine sew binding to back of quilt
- Bias binding discussion
Supply List:
- ½ yard of fabric to make binding for one of your projects (this is enough for a lap quilt only; bring more if your current project is bigger)
- Bring your project (if finished) to attach your binding (as time allows)
- Sewing machine, cord & foot pedal
- Matching Thread & bobbin
- Basic Sewing Supplies
- Scissors
- Pins &/or Wonder Clips
- Rotary Cutter
- Rotary Mat
- Marking Pen (frixion or equivalent)
- Measuring Tape or Dritz Measuring Stick
