Chenille Panel Quilt

Learn an easy way to make an adorable chenille quilt with panels or yardage.  These make great baby quilts or rugs!

Sewing supplies needed:

·       Sewing machine in good working order

·       Walking foot for your machine would be VERY helpful but not required

·       Good quality cotton thread to match your fabric choices

·       Bobbins for your machine (to match thread).  Have several wound as this is a thread intensive project

·       80/12 needles

·       Scissors (blunt nose suggested) and Rotary Cutter

·       *Pins/Quilt Basting Pins

·       *Chenille Cutter

 Quilt supplies:

·        PANELS – Pick 3 to 4 panels (4 panels suggested for fuller chenille effect;  3 to 4 yards of material can be substituted for panels).  Pick panels that DO NOT have lots of very small detail as that will get lost during the chenille process

·        BACKING - If using 1 yard panels - 1 1/8 yards backing material otherwise enough yardage to make the backing

·        BATTING - Cotton or poly-cotton – do not use 100% polyester as batting must be low loft.  Batting is optional if using 4 panels (or yardage).  If using 3 panels (or yardage) batting is necessary.

 PREP WORK PRIOR TO CLASS
